Item for sale: (1). Very Large “Mid-Century Modern”. Wooden Flatware Storage Chest with Tarnish Resistant Cloth. This large vintage/antique wood case was produced in the late 1930’s to hold Sterling or Silverplate flatware, designed for a service of 24+ plus serving pieces and is high quality “dovetailed” constructed. The case exterior has a great vintage look with indents & scratches, blemishes and varnish crazing (all most likely from years of closet storage) – please see all photos. The cover has a light “groan” when opened or closed. The BEST aspect of this vintage case is the wonderful bright interior tarnish resistant cloth with no rips, stains or odors. The case has 12 slots in the lid (plus an extra in the center for a serving piece) for dinner knives, the top area has 13 slots plus. 2 more slots at the front. The bottom drawer has 7 slots (for more knives and lots of extra pieces) and. 12 slots for individual butter spreader knives.
